Upgrade of the Manizales headquarters.
Between October 2024 and March 2025, under a contract with Colombia’s National Natural Parks, MARA upgraded the administrative headquarters of Los Nevados National Natural Park in Manizales: two floors of walls, plaster and paint, tiling, restrooms, carpentry, ceilings, electrical work, and water and wastewater lines. The façade has panels of pressure-treated timber slats, and both the façade and the rear courtyard were landscaped.
A city office for a high-mountain park.
The park, which protects glaciers, páramos and forests of the Andes’ Central Cordillera between Caldas, Risaralda, Quindío and Tolima, is managed from Manizales. The headquarters is where the team that looks after it works.
Renovating an existing building in the city.
Upgrading an existing building means careful dismantling, checking old networks and coordinating every work front on an urban plot, with neighbors and little room for materials. The façade timber was specified as pressure-treated for Manizales’ humid climate.
With National Parks in the region.
2022–2023 · Works in the park. With the Colombia en Paz Fund, through Consorcio ARQMARA Nevados, a consortium of which it is a member, MARA carried out studies, designs and works inside Los Nevados National Natural Park.
2024–2025 · Western Andes Territorial Directorate headquarters, Medellín. With Patrimonio Natural and KfW, MARA upgraded the office from which National Parks coordinates the protected areas of that region.
A renewed headquarters for the park team.
Timber façade, landscaped courtyard, new restrooms and utility lines: a headquarters in good shape for the team that manages Los Nevados National Natural Park.
